Psychiatrist Carl Bell dies at 71
Carl C. Bell was a scholar, activist, educator, administrator, navy officer, leader in the community mental health movement, as well as a renowned psychiatrist. Maybe more than anything else, he was committed to the African American community of southside Chicago. He worked tirelessly to reduce all forms of violence there, and nationally.
James S. Jackson to receive U-M Distinguished Diversity Scholar Career Award
James Jackson, Daniel Katz Distinguished University Professor of Psychology, RCGD research professor, and former director of ISR, will be awarded the University of Michigan’s inaugural Distinguished Diversity Scholar Career Award.
